Corry Memorial Hospital’s Diabetes Education Program has been awarded the American Diabetes Association Education Recognition Certificate for a quality self-management education program.

Diabetic Education Classes are available at Corry Memorial Hospital by a Certified Diabetes Educator, Terry DeLellis, RN and a Registered Dietitian, Melissa Nyweide.

Your physician can give you a referral to attend these classes. You will benefit from an initial one-on-one consultation with our educator and/or dietitian. Four 2-hour classes are then offered free and includes:

  • Explanation of Pathophysiology of Diabetes
  • Relationship Between Diet and Exercise
  • Stress Management
  • Monitoring
  • Standards of Care
  • Diet Management

Support sessions are also offered in October and November in honor of National Diabetes Education Month in November.
