Diabetes Education

Diabetes ClassCorry Memorial Hospital’s Diabetes Education Program has been awarded the American Diabetes Association Education Recognition Certificate for a quality self-management education program.

Diabetic Education Classes are available at Corry Memorial Hospital by a Certified Diabetes Educator, Terry DeLellis, RN and a Registered Dietitian, Melissa Nyweide.

Your physician can give you a referral to attend these classes. You will benefit from an initial one-on-one consultation with our educator and/or dietitian. Four 2-hour classes are then offered free and includes:

•Explanation of Pathophysiology of Diabetes
•Relationship Between Diet and Exercise
•Stress Management
•Monitoring
•Standards of Care
•Diet Management

Support sessions are also offered in October and November in honor of National Diabetes Education Month in November.
