Diabetes Education Classes and Support |
Diabetes Education Classes are alive and well in the Corry and Union City area. These classes are available through your physician's referral.
Diabetic Education Classes are available at Corry Memorial Hospital by a Certified Diabetes Educator, Ellen Rogers, RN and a Registered Dietitian, Melissa Nyweide.
Your physician can give you a referral to attend these classes. You will benefit from an initial one-on-one consultation with our educator and/or dietitian. Four 2-hour classes are then offered free and includes:
•Explanation of Pathophysiology of Diabetes
•Relationship Between Diet and Exercise
•Stress Management
•Monitoring
•Standards of Care
•Diet Management

Support sessions are also offered in October and November in honor of National Diabetes Education Month in November. |
